Canada Greener Homes Grant
Renewable energy is energy derived from natural processes that are replenished at a rate that is equal to or faster than the rate at which they are consumed. Under the Canada Greener Homes initiative, you can receive a grant for installing solar photovoltaic technology that converts sunlight directly into electricity.
Buildings, including our homes, account for 18% of Canada’s greenhouse gas emissions. We want to help Canadians make where they live more energy-efficient. This means homes will be more comfortable and more affordable to maintain while also supporting our environmental objectives.

$40,000 Interest Free Loans - Stay up to Date!
Details are anticipated to be announced this year on the Greener Homes interest-free loan that incorporates and builds on the energy audits and grants available.
To help homeowners and build on these measures, the 2021 Federal Budget proposed $4.4 billion over 5 years, starting in 2021-2022 to help up to 175,000 homeowners complete major home retrofits through interest-free loans of up to $40,000.
